Routes to Eureka Springs Ar and Branson Mo?

My wife and I are planning a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Branson, Missouri in a month or so and would like suggestions on RV accessible routes to get there. We Will likely be approaching from the Fort Smith direction after driving up Hwy 71 from Louisiana (I drove 71 last summer to know what to expect there), then across to Branson, and down Hwy 7 to Hot Springs, then back home (also have experience between home and Hot Springs so don't need advice for that section).

My main concern are the roads to and around Eureka Springs, some youtube videos show lots of switch backs with potential for tail dragging on the highways around Eureka Springs, unfortunately they don't do a good job of saying where exactly they are.

Of particular concern would be approaching Eureka Springs from the south on Hwy 23 as well as the 3 or 4 similar distance options between Eureka Springs and Branson. We would be in our 28 ft Safari Trek with no TOAD, where tail dragging would be my main worry.

thanks for your thoughts Ike

You have a nice small rig and shouldn't worry at all.
I have driven that route a few time from Branson south and had no problems and I have a 38ft motorhome and with my car attached 53ft total. My height is 12' 8" and have no low bridges.

It is only about 55 miles so what if you just drive the speed limit and it takes you 1 1/2 hrs.

You are good.

Thanks for the reply, I was not too overly concerned about Hwy 7, I have driven it before pulling a trailer, and in a smaller camper van, but that has been many years ago, most recently in 2001. I was more concerned about the highways into and out of Eureka springs, as while I have been there before, it has not been in an RV, and I think the last time I was there was probably the late 1980's.

There is really only one "bad" section with 3-4 switchbacks, but it is not a real bad grade and your rig is small. You won't have an issue BUT where it says 20 mph, they mean it.

I've pulled my 34 ft trailer behind my F350 with no issue other than going slow.

Your other option is to go around Eureka Springs and take 65 up to Branson.

Thanks, our current plans call for spending 3 days in Eureka Springs, then 4 in Branson, getting a rental car for the time we are in Branson. We had considered just getting the rental car for 2 days, but the price is almost the same to keep it for 4.
