We will be heading to WDW on Thanksgiving and will arrive in that area via I-75 and the Florida Turnpike. We will be staying at the Kissimmee KOA off Rt. 192 for 2 days prior to going into Fort Wilderness (we've been there once before 2 years ago). Streets and Trips wants me to stay on the FL turnpike to I-4, then take 535 down to 192. It looks to me I could get off the turnpike on Rt. 27 south down to 192 and come in that way.

Any suggestions pro/con from folks with more travel experience in that area?

The Florida Turnpike puts you on Rt 27 just above the town of Clermont, it takes about 20 minutes or so to get to 192 once on 192 for 15-20 minutes get off at the sign to Disney. there are a few traffic lights on 27 and 192 can get heavy traffic with lights but its probably more direct than the turnpike. You can get a free 2 night stay at Thousand Trails on 27 if you listen to the sales pitch.

I agree with the Rt 27 to Rt 192 route.
