Rt 299 to 101 in CA

We will be traveling from Yosemite Nat'l Park to the Oregon coast up to Seattle. Any thoughts on Rt. 299 from Redding, CA to Rt. 101? We have a 42 foot 5th wheel, and pull with a 2008 Dodge Dually.

Some construction delays. Other than that I think you're good to go. Have travelled 299 many times with our 33 foot fiver. Beautiful drive.

There's another recent post on this route with pro's and con's. I've done 299 several times and enjoy that drive. Yep, mountain road, curves and construction but that's certainly doable.

Edit: This is the post I was thinking of, doesn't specifically cover 299 but has references to 299 as well as other choices. I-5 RedBluff to Hwy 101- Any issues?

We went by there a week ago and one of the signboards on i5 south said 299 was closed West of I5. Not sure if it was construction or a slide. Check caltrans website before heading out. In fact that is a good idea before heading anywhere in CA.
