RT 50 west from Winchester VA

How is RT 50 west from Winchester VA to RT 79 with a 40 foot DP?
Thanks
Mike

It's a twisty 2 lane highway without much of a berm to pull off on, especially with a 40' DP. The 'George Washington Hwy' would be scenic, but not real relaxing as it twists and turns through the VA Piedmont region. Going west, once past I-79, it widens to 4 lane divided hwy.

Use Google maps and occasionally drop the icon for 'street view' onto the road and you'll get the feel for the road.

Bob's correct. Also, it can get narrow too as it goes through the small towns where cars are parked on both sides of the street. It's doable, you just have to be watchful.

If your intention is to go north on 79 there's an easier way. Take 522 north out of Winchester to I68 then to 79.
We drove 50 in the 5th wheel. Don't plan on doing it in the DP

Thanks everyone. Guess I'll stay with RT 68.
