The first week of November I will be going to Charleston. My plan is to get off I95 at exit #33 take RT17 into Charleston. My question is my height is 12'6" can I make it on this route? Also might run up to Murtle Beach on 17 how about that road? Any other advise.

Thanks

Hi doublehooked,
This route should be for you. I have traveled it several times. Route 17 is a Federal route.

FYI from a Charleston native, Its called HWY 17 out of town and Savanna Hwy in town. Also I am unaware of any low clearance because we are a large port city with 1000's of trucks headed out in all directions.

I RV to Charleston several times a year and drive Hwy 17. you will have no clearance problems. We've written an indepth blog about James Island County Campground and the Charleston area. Check it out as it might offer some helpful ides about things to see and do.
