RV rental in Australia

We are starting to look into renting an RV and travel in Australia. Initially thinking to rent one in Melbourne and return in Brisbane. Thoughts from those who have rented one and traveled in Australia.

Thanks in advance.

Check Rolling Homes press. They do trips and books. Think they did that last fall.

Thanks. I have bookmarked the Church's adventures in Australia. I will also watch for their book.

Check RV Lifestyle experts also. Jamie did a trip to Australia. It is probably in the blog section of her website.

I've found the highways to be in pretty poor shape outside the major cities. The population (21 million) just can't afford to build super highways or maintain the roads to the level we expect in the States. Also expect much higher fuel prices than here. Most RVs I've seen are Class B or C in size, very few Class A's. Also watch out for the speed cameras, they tend to like putting them on hills or curves, especially were the speed limit reduces by 10 or more KPH. Still a wonderful place to visit and travel about. I've been to Sydney, Brisbane, Port Macquarie, Alice Springs, Uluru Rock, Heron Island, Fraser Island, Byron Bay and many points in between. My daughter and her husband run a few businesses in Byron. Have a great trip!
