Planning on catching a ferry from Prince Rupert, BC to as close to Anchorage, Alaska as we can get. Then we plan to rent a Class C Motorhome. Any advice and recommendations as to rental agencies, Ferry Systems, etc. will be appreciated greatly.

There is only one ferry system in the Alaska waters called the Alaska Marine Highway System.

You most likely will want to take the ferry to the Whittier Terminal. There you can catch a train to Anchorage. You will find many places to rent a Class C motohome for your adventure. Check some of them out by using Google Search.

I have rented a few Class C's many years ago prior to purchasing my current coach. I have always used A&M RV Center. They are not that far away from the train station.

If you're going to take the ferry, why not rent them/h in BC then go up & back. Most rentals don't include enough miles anyway, the time it's on the ferry is 'free' miles, it's moving but not racking up miles.

Bring your check book when renting a MH..... They are really proud of them plus they charged you for EVERYTHING.... Hrs on generator; linings; chairs; millage; plus a hefty daily fee....

We were going to rent one instead of taking our MH but after doing the math for the three weeks we would want one, we decided to go the rent car and Bed and Breakfast route.... Turned out to be a brilliant decision.... We loved the B&B's and rented a SUV which allowed us to go places we couldn't go in the MH like the Denali highway (renters won't let you take their MH on it and it's a "must do" when you are in Alaska...). We've been to Alaska three times and traveled the Denali highway every time....

You didn't state when you'd go so I just plugged in Aug 1 to Sept 1 and the cost is $7,000 for unlimited mileage.

Since you have your own RV why not just drive it up and take the whole summer? Despite the 'rumors' you might have heard, it really is an easy trip and you'll be much more comfortable in your own RV and taking your time.
