RV Trip Wizard

Is anyone familiar with these folks and their program? I visited their both at the Tampa Super Rally and decided to sign up. They said they were working on the system, but I could sign up on line. They provided me the show discount code. I tried later that night and the system would not take my information. I stopped by again the following day and was told they were recharging their modem and couldn't sign me up at that time. I tried again that night and encountered another sign up problem with their website.

I sent them an email but never got a response.

The idea sounds good, but I wonder, based upon my unsuccessful attempts trying to buy their product how good can their programming be?

I just looked at the demo video. Can't say I was impressed . If they would spend more time showing me what it will do rather than telling me in a slide show. I may be interested.

What was the discount amount , vs the $37?

Keep us posted on how things turn out

I think it was $27 or $29. If they're not willing to respond to emails about buying their product I doubt I'll be pursuing it. Seems no one here has any experience or interest either.

I watched the video too but from what I saw, and what you've wrote, it doesn't appear to be anything ready for "primetime". Maybe with some more time they can get it polished up and the kinks worked out.

Once they finish recharging the modem they also have to change the summer air in the tires to winter air...

I had sign up issues with RV Trip Wizard as well

I signed up under their 15 day free trial. When I tried to login the site said it did not recognize my login information. It also said it was unavailable due to having too many hits that day. I emailed a request for a refund and was told that the free trial had ended a month earlier (I had only become aware of the site 2 days earlier) and that the login error was mine. After a couple
contentious emails my money was refunded. I don't think these guys know how to really run a website or a business.

I enjoy the research and planning of a trip, but then I never liked using AAA Triptik either. Here's a review of RVTripWizard:

I tried the demonstration program and noted that it routed me over 12 ton weight limit bridge. (My rig weighs 22 tons.) Not a good situation. Hopefully they will improve the program to account for rig weights and road limits.

I use RV Trip Planner software to get a rough idea of my route and what CG's are available along the way. I don't bank on it because I have experienced minor issues with it. Nothing replaces good old fashioned planning and research. I use the software to get a route then I use the Truckers road Atlas and its' route restrictions pages to research the route. I'll also add that I NEVER rely on GPS to plan a trip when I got the 5er attached.

Technology may be faster but technology doesn't have to get you out of a bad situation. But then if you research yourself and still get in a bad situation, there is nothing/nobody else to blame!

That said, I don't know if I would trust these folks' service. Especially with them knowing there will be nobody home.

We use maps, a mileage counter and RVparkreviews to plan our longer trips. There will always be something newer and faster available, but we use what works. We also use trip journal allowing family to follow our travels.

Hmm, we use RV Trip Wizard all the time. I try to limit my daily driving to 300 miles so the software's distance rings come in quite handy. Now, I do not use their specific routing... I rely on my Garmin Dezl 760 for that AND I use Google Maps to "fly" the route before we depart. I especially like the capability to save the route to a Microsoft Excel file. I keep the Excel files and I add an extra column for qualitative comments about the parks that we stay in. Unfortunately no "one" site, software package, or GPS is all encompassing for trip planning. But we think RV Trip Wizard is a good too to have in our tool bag.
