S/B on Texas 278

Hi..Going to the Dallas/Fort Worth area on Tuesday. Is TX 278 S/B from Amarillo a good RV road. Thanks

If you mean U.S. 287, it's 4 lane all the way and was in good condition the last time I drove it.

You're probably referring to US 287. If so, that is a very good road, much of it 4-lane divided. It does go through all the small towns along the way, so you'll have to slow down often. It joins IH-35W just north of Fort Worth; lot of construction on 35 down to loop 820, and east on 820. Depending on where you are going in DFW area, and the time of day you arrive, it may be best to take I-820 West off I-35W, and go around the west side of Fort Worth. That road also circles around and becomes I-20, which is about the best route east to Dallas.

We came down from Amarillo Friday on 287 to Dallas area and it is/was a good road. Some slow down for towns but good highway.
