Roaqd is a majoy interstate and well maintaned. From Brigham City to Provo you will have 100 miles of traffic. Plan your trip to avoid the commutes. South of Provo is nice, one climb in Scipio, but not bad. Elevation will alwasy be less than 6500'. Beaver to Cedar City is high desert. Cedar to St George is red rock country. Narrow winding 4 lane going through the Virgin River gorge. Beautiful but stay alert to the road. Mesquite to Las Vegas is low desert.

Only caution on the entire route is to watch weather. Snow can slow you down anywhere north of Cedar City. Too early in the year to expect a problem. Being from MT you will not be troubled with anything UT will throw at you and the drive is very pleasing to the eye. Part of the road south of Nephi is not pleasing to the butt.

Enjoy

I live in Cedar City and right now it is breezy from the South. It is in the 60's during the day. The road does have some areas of construction going on so be aware of the lane changes.
It is a 4 hour drive from SLC to Cedar City and about 1.5 hours to Vegas.
There is alway so kind of construction going on south of St. George. Usually in the Virgin River canyon. Be careful lots os truck traffic in there.
Other than that the speed limit in Utah is 75 and the traffic really clears out south of PRovo.
Honk when you hit Cedar.
