Santa Fe & ABQ Best Bets?

We are in the Santa Fe area for a week. I am overloaded with suggestions (from all the tourist hand outs) for things to do here and in ABQ.

Suggestions based on your experiences will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Len & Pat Crouch

Things we enjoyed in Santa Fe: the museums on the hill, the state capital, the spiral staircase in the church, the native art on the porch of the Palace of Governors, the Georgia O'keef gallery, the pastry shop in the LaFonda hotel

Things to do

Loaded question - what are you in to? Still a little cold at night but a drive up past Abuiqu toward Chama is beautiful this time of year. Lots of casinos if that's your thing. Hit Blake's for a green chile cheeseburger. Albuquerque has a fantastic zoo and aquarium, the natural history museum is also worth while. El Pinto is a great local restaurant, located in the north valley. When the waiter asks "red or green?" say "Both!". And don't forget the fried egg on the enchiladas...it's a local thing. Enjoy your stay!

Take the Tram ride to the top of the Sandias. Beautiful view from 10,678 feet above sea level.

Yes, Yes!

Did the tram at sunset, then drove up the road on the East side the next day. Found out that hiking at 10K feet is a slow process at the age of 68.

Also found that Zantac and Prevacid are my friend since I've been in Tex-Mex food country.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I asked this customer if he preferred the Red or the Gren, but he wasn't talking.

DW and I have enjoyed NM so much, it has been our destination twice during our first year of RV'ing!

Both times, we hooked up at Santa Fe Skies. Super folks, wonderful park. Of course, at ABQ, it was among Balloon Fiesta attendees.

We've enjoyed reading the Santa Fe and ABQ suggestions, and are gratified to see we caught many of 'em; plus, you've given us great ideas for Trip #3.

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the Santa Fe Brewing Company, nearly across the highway across from Santa Fe Skies. They've got a small tasting room, inhabited by a friendly bunch. It reminds me of the Cheers, the old TV series.
