We take route one with our 31 foot class C and never had a problem. As TonyDi said picturesque and we like frequent stops to walk the dogs and browse the shops and tourist stops.

We came up from Portland to Bangor up RT1 last summer. Lots of great places to stop and see. Traffic can be tight in the summer months but the road is decent. Once you hit Stockton Springs and head east the roads and traffic are much better. You shouldn't have any problems.
