South Carolina travel warning on 95 south, bad road.

Just got back from a day at Ford dealer with toad. Needed to replace 2 tie rods, get front end alignment and rotate damaged front tire to rear. $650.

There is a beach ball size pothole 40 miles from the Georgia border in the right lane on the drivers side.

South Carolina is now the worst stretch of 95 between Maine and Florida.

95 stinks traffic Wise as soon as is goes into 3 Lane. I have never seen such horrible driving 80 + MPh texting and crossing all 3 lanes without looking. No cops spotted until accident

Agree, I-95 in SC is horrible, especially the right hand lane. Hate having to get on it to access the southern coastline. Sometimes we run 85 to Charlotte and then 77 to 26. But unless you hit Charlotte just ride, that can be a bear as well. Maybe one day they will move forward with some much needed repairs.

I really dislike 95. Not much choice when travelling south. Just slow down to avoid so much jolting

South Carolina travel warning on 95 south, bad road.

Drove Virginia to Florida and back earlier this month. Iíve been on deteriorating sections of I-95 in the Mid-Atlantic states and couldnít believe how terrible the interstate was in South Carolina. It was none jarring and for hundreds of miles.

An Updated post with your experience on I-95 South would be great.

Safe travels!

Unfortunately this is nothing new. We've been making trips between central South Carolina and Florida for several years, it has always been horrible in all that time.

We will be heading to Wauchula, FL in two weeks. Thinking about traveling I-75 from Knoxville,TN instead of I-26/95 from Kingsport. Any thoughts, concerns or watchouts for this route?

Sorry first chance to get on the forum. We came down Friday about 1pm. Road is generally really really rough but could not find evidence of the big pothole referenced. I was driving and looking for it hard. Started at MM47 thru MM35.

Perhaps they repaired it but didn't really see evidence of that either.

We have traveled often. Lots or dipping, construction, past peasant AND future, especially before Chattanooga and between Tiffin Ga, avoid rush area times, can add to hours of driving time, get in the right lanes or run 80. Most exits in Ga are old tight and not so big rig friendly, try to fuel up around Chattanooga and south Ga. Always lots of construction, within 200 miles of Atalanta, in either direction. Georgia $$$ for roads. Wish other states could get some.Slow down and be prepared for sudden stops, and watch drivers do all sorts of crazy things.
