South in DE

Which route is best going south in DE taking toll US 1 --past Dover - heading to Chincoteague KOA as destination - ? US 13 or 113 ? Opinions ? One better than the other ?

TIA

The toll for a car on RTE 1, M-F is $2.00 Sat & Sun $6.00 one way (2 bridges) I use RTE 13 & 113 on the week end. BUT it depends on the time of day. I go to the Chincoteague area once a month all year round, hope it helps you. Dave

If it’s between 13 and 113, I’ll take 113 all day, every day. Far less lights, nicer open drive once you clear DE line, not as much speed limit changes, and less speed traps. Live in SE PA and owned a place in the OBX so drove these routes a LOT.

We live right between Rt1 and 113, so am quite familiar with the area, and agree with previous posts re 113. If you want the easiest drive, and don't mind the Rt1 toll, take that until you get to the Rt1 - Rt113 split, and take 113. That will take you right into Maryland, and an easy drive to Chincoteague.
