Anyone been here recently?

I'm headed to Fort Myers on Thursday and would like to make a looong day of it and stop over in the "J" in St. Augustine....

Wondered if this was as decent as the rest of the Flying J's I've been to....

I have bought fuel there and it was like all the others that I have been to. It was very busy when I was there. I only got fuel and did not stay. AS I remember there is a place to park to the left of the building.

Thanks Tom....

As I'm about 73 feet long with the Stacker trailer in tow, I usually park back with the trucks if they're not too busy....I won't take a space if there are only a few left....

We may stay at this same Flying J on our trip to Florida next week, probably around the 9th. If you are going to be there before us, let me know what you find there on the RV parking area. Thanks.

Bob,

There a new Camping World at the Factory Stores in St Augustine. Lots of room, and much quieter that the Flying J!

Arrived at the Flying J around 8PM and by doing so pretty much cooked our goose as for parking there...I forgot that's PRIME TIME for the professionals to take their naps....We stuck around about 20 minutes after fueling to see if we could get a spot but they were JAMMED in both the truck lot and the rv lot, which with the Stacker I had NO hope of using...
Ended up driving half way across I-4 and spending the night in a rest area at around 10:30, then got up around 6 and headed on to Fort Myers...
Flying J after about 7PM is a no go unless you can get into the RV overnight slots.

I also called the Camping World and was told they DO NOT allow overnight parking at this CW location due to City ordinance...

Best advice is to stop early enough to hit several of the campgrounds in the area, which was not conductive to my schedule.

On one trip down we stayed at the Florida Welcome Center on I 95,tucked in between another rv and a truck. They had 24 hour security and felt safe and secure there. You may want to consider that next time you are in that area.

Thanks Dianne....Leaving from Virginia Beach and usually headed toward southeastern Florida I usually like to get a little further south, but that's something to remember for the future.

I had my college aged daughter with me this trip and was trying to get her to Fort Myers to "optimize" her available time.
She's flying back today..
