Suggested Route, Pahrump to I-15 South

I posted this in the Travel section, but not getting much traffic, besides this post does involve a Class A M/H

We are in Pahrump, Nevada, staying at the beautiful Lakeside Casino RV Park. Prior, we were in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Motorcoach Park. We took the 160 to Pahrump, but are considering taking the 372/178/127 south to connect to the I-15 in Baker. Seems to be a more direct route and cuts out the 50 miles back to Vegas.

Question is, how is this road? Baker to Vegas is a long up and down grade. Is there a grade using this route? My old Rand McNalley atlas shows it to be a "scenic" route.

What say you who have travelled this route?

Thanks,
Wyatt

I have driven it several times in a car, but not with my MH. As I remember there are no worse grades than you have already been on and it will be mostly downhill into Baker. It is pretty senic if you like the Desert, I love the drive, but it puts my wife to sleep.

No problem, I've taken it several times in my MH. Safe travels.

That is an easy drive in our Alpine towing our GMC Yukon. We use that route two or three times per year because we like to go to Front Sight.

Have taken in several times in our coach. As others have said it is a easy drive. 2 lanes only and not many vehicles during the week. It's in the desert so if there has not been any rain, the road should be fine. Happy travels...

Thanks for the replies. We just got home using this route and it was fine, except for the semi's that always seem to want to go 70mph! Felt like a much shorter trip than from home to Las Vegas on the I-15.
