Mandatory stop is Sioux Falls SD and Kalispell MT .. We will visit cousins in both those places and I want to see Glacier when I am there.

Streets and Trips has me going 80 to 90 and then 3, 12 at billings and up to kalispell? and back east by 94

I have a gas rig will I run into many steep grades out that way?

Is that the best way?

I should probably see Mt Rushmore and want suggestions for other "must see" sites" and if anyone knows any good campgrounds or special food places I would love to hear it.

Do you think I can do it in 4 - 5 weeks? I am trying to hash out the time etc.. How much time should I allocate for Glacier? Is there suggestions for good spots in GNP for camping? as to areas or preferred campgrounds. I have a 32 footer which is more like 33 long.

So far I have

Mt Rushmore
Deadwood
Devils tower before GNP

Streets and trips comes up with 14 days travel at 5 hours per day. I figure that is a good amount of time not to burn out fast. So that leaves me with 2 to 3 weeks leeway for sites

I would suggest avoiding going through Chicago if at all possible. We skirted the south edge of the city on I-80 and continued west on that till we got to I-39. Then we headed north back to I-90. Even that way, the roads and traffic were terrible. That was a few years ago, so maybe the roads are in better shape now. Since you are headed to SD, it is hard to go further south to bypass Chicago anymore than that.

I would add:
The Corn Palace (Mitchell, SD) ...
the Badlands ...
Wall Drug (Old photos in the back near the dinosaur ... must see)
In the BlackHills: Bison herd, Needles highway, crazy horse
Cody Museum in Cody, WY
Yellowstone: Old faithful, Old Faithfull Inn (walk through), mud pots, hot springs, Yellowstone Falls, wildlife
Glacier: Going to the Sun Highway (in your toad) ... we drove it 3 days in a row ... some nice hikes

Others will add more I am sure ...

I will probably skip Yellowstone. I was thinking I'd be better off putting Yellowstone off to a future trip maybe incorporating a circle from yellowstone to Grand Canyon.
