Talimena Scenic Drive Ark. ??

Greetings All:

I am considering the Talimena Scenic Drive from Oklahoma to Arkansas on my way to Hot Springs during Christmas Break. I am in a 34 DP, is this a good trip? Any low clearance or concerns? We are planning on camping two nights at Lake Ouachita SP and touring Hot Springs from there.

I look forward to any comments, suggestions, or cautions.

Beautiful drive, narrow, twisty road, don't recall low clearance any where.

Good drive. No low clearences. 2 lane roadway.
If you are going West to East you will have 1 steep (8%) grade down coming off Winding Stair Mt (the total desent is about 2-3 miles not all at 8%). Then you will have a (8%) grade to climb going up Rich Mt. (This climb is about 6 or 7 miles with only a short 8% part).
Good time of the year to go, all the leaves are off the trees so the views are better.
