I can't vouch for between Chillicothe & Dayton, but we travel 35 from Chillicothe to where it meets up with I-64 1 exit east of Teays Valley (TV), many times each year. No need to get on 34 at TV to get to the new 35, as there's a new interchange (exit 40, I think) for 35 before you even get to TV when you're headed wesbound on I-64. This newer section runs from there to the Buffalo Bridge exit. Great road. An even newer 4-lane section opened late last winter from just west of Cornstalk Rd to Pt.Pleasant. That leaves only about a 10 mile section of old 35 in WV where it's just 2-lane. Watch the edges on old 35 as it's really chewed up by all the semi traffic & isn't patched well & if you're travelling at dusk or night, watch for deer. They'll come outta the fields along the road quicker than you'd think.
