We are taking our first long trip in our new motorhome. We will be in Branson,Nashville and Knoxville. Any suggestions as to sights to see or shows to see would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

John:
We will be doing same (first extended trip in our current rig...only two weeks though) Oct. 6. Virginia to Branson, then back thru TN to our home in SW Virgnia. We will do Memphis, Chattanooga and Nashville on the way back.
We've been to Nashville in the past in a TT...great campgrounds near Opryland...lot's to see near the origigal Grand Old Opry if you are into Country Music.

John,
You might get more responses on the Crossroad forum from all the RV'ers. So I will move this into that forum for more exposure.

John I would recommend that if you are on the west side of Nashville you would like Montgomery Bell State Park try to get by the creek.

Chattanooga web sites:

TN Vacation :

Definately get the vacation guide. You can pick it up at any of the welcome centers if you don't have the time to get it mailed to you.
If you are on a budget one of the best tours we've been on was FREE!!! The tour for the Jack Daniel's Distillery is free. This is not a short tour either. We stayed at the Tim's Ford State Park at the time (if you check out the campground reviews on our Aluminum Asylum page, you will find picks of the campground as well as the list of the longer sites).

John, East of Knoxville at exit 356 on I-40 Oak Ridge is 15-18 north. There is a great museum called I believe AMSE that is pretty much dedicated to the Manhattan project. We just happened to do it yesterday and found it to be great and only $3 pp (seniors). In fact in 2 hours we actually only did 1/2 of it and will go back to see the rest, Ken,'04 DSDP....
