I believe you can avoid the toll on 281 by using 87.

I believe that toll is only $1.00. Do you mean Casino Beach Boardwalk? We were there last May and plan on going back this year. It is a beautiful beach both west and east. Camping at Fort Pickens Park is only about $15.00. The drive to Navarre is great with little traffic that time of year on the weekdays. Weekends are a different story. Took us an hour to get across the toll bridge on a Saturday.

If you take I110 off of I10 to Pensacola Beach the toll is 1.00. Fort Pickens went up to 24.00 a night last year. You will love it.

If your come from the east on hwy98, jump across at Navarre and take 399 down to Pickens. Great drive. Don't be in a rush and smell the Gulf.

Should have clarified a bit. If you have an America the Beautiful old folks card, it is half price, so $12.. Great deal.
