Hi all, looking for some info. Has anyone driven from Thermopolis to Cody on state road 120 pulling a fifth wheel? What are the road conditions like?

Although its been four or five years I've driven a heavily loaded (about 24,000 lbs) motorhome with a toad hooked on the back.

The road was in very good condition. Didn't have any problems at all.

It's been about 6 years since we traveled that route driving our Dodge/CTD pulling a 10K# 5er. At that time 120 was a very smooth 2 lane blacktop highway. There was very little traffic, perhaps we met one vehicle every 5 miles. I really prefer that route from I80 from the East, as it miss's all the mountian grades. For staying a night or two in Thermopolis, there is a motel/RV park right in town; very convenient to every attraction,etc.
Be sure to take advantage of the city owned hot springs and indoor hot swimming pool, both are free.

No problems at all on 120. It'll save you time from having to go through Greybull and it's a nice easy drive.

We traveled that route just before Memorial Day and it was a very easy trip. While in Thermopolis, if you have time, I would check out both the Thermopolis Museum and the Dinosaur Museum. Both are very interesting. In Cody, you must allow yourself at least a day to visit the Wild Bill Cody Museum.
