Top of The World Highway and Road to Inviuk 2017
Has anyone driven either road this season? Trying to decide if we should attempt it. Love to road conditions and traffic levels.
We will hit it in about the end of August.
Thanks,
David

I was over Top of the World about 5 years ago. It was a mess as they were redoing most of it. I was told the other day that it was nice now.

We did "Top of the World Hwy" a few weeks ago, ferry from Dawson City, Chicken etc.... We took 8 1/2 hours to travel 126 miles, we took our time.
The area near the US border is newly paved, the rest is gravel. If you take your time it's quite doable.
Road construction near Chicken delayed us about 1/2 hour.

Last summer we did a day trip up the Dempster for 60 miles to Tombstone Territorial Park. The gravel was nice and smooth at least to Tombstone. Averaged 45-50 mph. Was unsure of the road so with the RV trailer set up in Dawson City we I had Tombstone on my bucket list. When we go back in 19' we'll take the RV to Tombstone to the provincial park Campground. From the few people we ran into to road is not too bad into the Northwest Territory.
TOW was better than expected in the Canadian part. First 13 miles in the US was new pavement. The next 30 miles to Chicken was not good. Do-able, just have to be on you toes. We did it in mid June last year.

Thanks for the information. I'm pretty cautious, so it sounds doable.

The road from Chicken back to the Alcan near Tok is called the Taylor Highway. The closer to the Alcan it gets the better the road gets. Closer to Chicken the first 20 miles are a combination of pavement, and 20'- 1000' sections of gravel.

Have you tried a google sat view of the road and done an image search of photos by folks who have driven the road? I did and it helped make my decision.
