Question Travel Advice

Hi all, looking to travel from Great Falls, MT to Butte, MT the first week of November. I am driving a 30' motor home with a Ford 460 motor. What do you think of this? Good idea? Bad idea? Is the highway bad at that time?

Thanks for the info

I assume you are planning to take I-15? I'm sure it will be maintained in most conditions. Check on the weather and road conditions for Montana at: Montana Department of Transportation Traveler Information Map

With climate change it is harder to predict from previous years the road conditions on a date in the future. Pay attention to weather systems and know your limitations. Take it slow and steady and don't 'HAVE' to be somewhere by a particular date.

BFlinn181 gave you an excellent answer. You just never know what Montana weather will bring, they can get snow 12 months out of 12. It's not likely but it can happen. Check the weather forecast and the DOT website, they have cameras on the passes that give you real time pictures of the pass and what's happening.

Well considering it was snowing quite hard in Calgary Alberta day before yesterday and its only 312 miles north of you I would suggest yo keep close tabs on the weather as you travel south.

Have a good time and don't sweat the small stuff.
