We are planning a trip from the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland to Waterbury CT this spring and looking for the best route. We are in a Class A, 33 '. Thanks for any advise.

I'd recommend going inland to I-81, I-84, leave the tolls and traffic around Philadelphia, and NYC and go rural.

We travel this route regularly. I would not agree until you gave a starting point. Maryland is on both sides of the Chesapeake and route options would be based on the starting point. Suggested route is full of hills and bad weather. Alternate route would be CBB to rt 1 to 95 to 295 to 206 to 287 to 87 to 84

If going out of maryland below baltimore on 95 there will be three tolls. No easy way around them.

X2 what ladagobago says. Makes a lot of difference where you are starting.

We're from Waldorf, and do the 81/84 route regularly on our way to Maine.

that location is way down there. We visit annually to the Corinthian YC and friends in the Herring Bay area. Your trip plan to Haggerstown and up 81 will eliminate some traffic in NJ but will give you an 8 hour 500 mile trip.

although travel via Del, NJ, NY to CN is 100 miles shorter you may well find the trip time longer do to traffic. take the 81 to 84 and enjoy the ride.

US 301 to Annapolis, 301/50 across the Bay Bridge to eastern shore, N on 301 to I-95 in DE, stay on 95 N into PA then I-476 N (Mid County Expressway) to PA Turnpike, North on I-476 (Northeast Extension) to Scranton then I-81 over to I-84 and then I-84 to your destination. Only tolls are PA Turnpike and Bay Bridge.
