Has anyone found a good replacement for the discontinued Microsoft Streets and Trips?

I still use mine for some planning.

I do a few things now:

Use Google Maps with way stops entered. Then I use a combination of:
>Allstays Pro app, looking for National Parks/Forests/Monuments, Arm Corp of Engineering, Elk's, State/County/City parks, Independent Parks. (I look for them in that order.) I also will look at Passport America, for way stations and overnighters where we want full hook up's. Then Walmart/Cabella's for overnight stops without hook ups.
>Another resource, is the Escapees Days End
>I keep RV Parks Review open, and cross check this for ratings for the choices in an area

I find the one feature I miss the most MS S&T, is the ability to adjust all speeds on all roadways to the slowest possible, and enter Start/Stop times, and every four hours 20 min breaks. This made planning easier, as the 'overnight moon' would appear on the map where you need to find a place to stay between way points. Then I would drill down per above, to determine where and how long to stay.

(We try to follow the Three 2's. Less then 200 miles a day; Stop by 2:00PM; Stay 2 nights! Though we will alter this if just stopping overnight like say a Walmart.)

Now I keep a another web page open with Google maps, and enter the from too on that page, to easily see distance and times of travel. I factor this back by about 10-15% time wise, especially in California at 55 MPH, due to us not driving the speed limits posted for automobiles.

I will in 2017, start using two or three different planning/routing tools at the same time. I'll do two at a time, along with MS S&T and Google Maps, then compare how the two I'm evaluating work for us.

Will follow this thread, as I have others like this, and hopefully someone will say 'Try this, it's even better then MS S&T!!)...

Best to all,

Rand McNally has a trip maker web page that I really like. It is free to use and very user friendly!

I have been using Delorme for years. I always liked it better than S & T. It's now owned by Garmin.

MSST was my go to map now i LOVE - https://www.bing.com/maps/ - Bing Maps

For me it works just like MSST but better as it is up to date and allows more options.

Everybody is offering on-line options - there are many of us who are looking for a decent OFF-LINE option. It appears that providers are trying real hard to get us to burn up data rather than providing off-line options for us dinosaurs

I have used Here We Go . I heard about it here ( Irv2 ) . I've used it offline in the US and Austrailia and New Zealand. It works off line.

While I have a new Garmin 760RV LMT and use Basecamp to create custom routes I've also played with an app called CoPilot. You can download the detailed maps for regions or the entire US and Canada onto your phone and use the app without burning data on the road.
