Trip planning - East Glacier to Seattle

Hello all - I am planning our summer trip and have some uncertainty for the final leg to Seattle. Google maps is routing us from East Glacier via:

US89 S
US 2 W
Hwy 206
Hwy 35 E
Hwy 82 W
US 93 S
Hwy 28 W
Hwy 200 W
Hwy 135 E
and finally to I-90.

Wow, that is a lot of different highways in the mountains. I will be in a 31' MH flat towing a Cobalt. Is this route safe for my setup? I'd rather not have to white knuckle on this route.

I have made the trip many times and you will not have any problems.
You will have some rolling hills on hwy 28 as it weaves towards hwy 200
and just before you connect to hwy 200 there is a down hill grade that is not
bad.
Hwy 135 is a nice road that follows the Clark Fork river until you get to I-90.

Hope this helps

We basically did the reverse trip in 2010.

My suggestion:

US2 all the way! Really only one highway to remember

Through Kalispell, Libby, Bonners Ferry, Sand Point, Priest River, Newport, Coulee City, Leavenworth . . . will get you on I-90 for just a couple of miles in the Spokane area.

Beautiful trip. Great scenery. Light traffic. Decent roads. Did I mention just a couple of miles of interstate?

Once you start down from the summit on hwy 2 a short distance from your stating
point it is mostly down hill or flat until you get to lookout pass on I-90

I would not use hwy 2 coming into Spokane they have made some major changes and
it is a nightmare and none if any of the new roads are listed and a GPS will go nuts.

Our preference for crossing the Cascades is SR-20. Of course we live just off the SR-20 spur into Anacortes, which makes it convenient. Apart from that, though, IMO it's a better road (surface, width and grades) than US 2. It does go higher - Washington Pass is 5700' high, compared to Stevens' 4300' or so. Also, there aren't many commercial trucks using it, probably because it joins I-5 a lot further north than US-2.

The only drawback with SR-20 is that it's usually closed due to snow between early November and early May.

Thanks all for the replies. Looks like there is no worries to take the route.
