Trip Planning-Tenn.

The DW and I are planning a trip to three cities in Tenn. (Townsend, Crossville, Cookeville) in mid August. The purpose of the trip is to look at each city as possible site for relocation from our current residence in the north Fla. panhandle near Tallahassee. Since this is our first "long" trip planned in the MH, several questions have come up: Should we make reservations in advance or take it day by day and just drive up, how many days should we spend at each city (no time constraints), what is the most enjoyable routes (try to avoid interstates when possible) to and from each city and what are the best campgrounds in each area (we like COE campgrounds).

We would love to hear from anyone who has also been to these cities, what routes they took and any campground recommendations or any other information that you feel would be helpful in our trip planning. Thanking you in advance!

the good part about the timing of your trip is that schools start back Mid-August here in TN, so you should be able to access sites with a minimum of fuss (all the kiddos will be back in school - less families on vaca). I don't specifically know about any of the camping in those areas, tho. Also, August in TN is HOT!!!! You might want to have hookups!
