Haven't been to Marysville since, oh, yesterday. Assuming you info is correct and you are coming from Arizona, I think hugging the east side of the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountains is the most scenic. That would be bringing 395 up through Reno, then cutting over to 97 through Bend, OR. You can follow 97 to Leavenworth, WA then cut west on US2, which will bring you to I5 in Everett.

Lots of options along that route for stops and side trips and ususally good road all the way.

This is a very scenic route with lots of places to see. Some of our favorites:

Schat's Bakery - Bishop, CA - stayed at the fairgrounds

Lake Sabrina - day trip from Bishop

Bishop Burger Barn - good/fun stop

Manzanar National Historic Site - well worth the 2 hour stop; chilling part of our history - loop around was large enough road we drove RV with toad still hooked up

You can take the toad into Yosemite via Tioga Pass for a day trip

Day trip through Lassen National Park

Day trip to MacArthur-Burney Falls - one of the prettiest falls we've seen

Lava Beds National Monument

Tulelake National Wildlife Refuge

Interesting that Tulelake Internment Camp is part of the of the WWII Valor of the Pacific National Monument

We stayed at fairgrounds whenever possible. Roads were mostly good with only a few miles of "California" roads.

This is probably our favorite of all the Portland to Yuma routes.

On the way home taking 395 from Az. Class C towing and have done the route with 40' DPer towing, to Alturs then 299 and 39 to 97 to 26 then I5 and time your trip 10:00 or 2:00 for traffic through Seattle. Now your near your destination. This route gives many EZ side trips and a scenic road with many camp grounds along the way.
