Trip to the Outer Banks, North Carolina

Will be traveling to the Cape Hatteras KOA in Rodanthe, NC, next week. Wondering if anyone has traveled to the Outer Banks recently. Have a 42 ft motorhome and will be crossing the Virginia Dare Memorial Bridge and the Bonner Bridge. Not been to this area before and was wondering if there are any problems that we might encounter. Thank you.

We are volunteering on the Outer Banks for 3 months. Be aware that the Bonner bridge is being inspected and there may be one way traffic with flaggers. Then 15 miles south is New Inlet bridge. This is a temporary bridge with one way traffic, rough surface and narrow lanes. We work at the Pea Island NWR Visitor Center a few days a week, swing by and say hi.

Thanks for the info, Bruce. My wife,(Donna), is a little leery of bridges, particularly high ones. Maybe we'll see y'all the week end of May 30th!

She's gonna have to hunker down on that trip! Virginia Dare and Bonner bridge causeways are close to 3 miles each and the high sections are, well HIGH
