Truck traffic on weekends

Hi Everyone,

Is Truck traffic lower on Weekends... than it is during the week days ????
In my small corner of the world, I think it is.
I am mainly concerned about the route from Florida, up to New York state,
most of which will be 95.... then crossing over to 81 just below DC.

Local truck traffic in metropolitan areas might be reduced on weekends because many businesses are closed, but interstate trucks operate 24/7 and you'll find trucks all the time.

The stretch of I-95 between Baltimore and Richmond can be he most frustrating road on the east coast. I make that trip several times a year and some days you just sit in traffic and average 20 mph. Next time it's the speed limit the whole way.
I have taken to travelling at night when the traffic abates somewhat in that area. Long haul truckers will always be there but they seem to shut down after dark sets in.

I-95 & I-81 are two of the main highways for trucks going north & south. You'll always have trucks, but during the week if you add local drivers to the mix it can be pretty clogged up. I think weekends are better....BUT ,portions of those roads can still get crazy, especially as mentioned Richmond to Balt. I always break off onto Rt. 301 south of D.C., then pickup I-97 to I-695 which is the Balt. beltway, around to I-83N to Harrisburg, Pa. to get on I-81, then on to I-84 which is our northerly rt. to Maine each year.
