TX state route 31.

Has anyone traveled on TX route 31 from I-20 thru Tyler to I-45 Corsicana, I am thinking of using rather than going thru Dallas when I am making my way south this winter. Is there anything I should watch for?

A group of us actually went the opposite way once and if memory serves it was at a minimum a WIDE 2 lane most of the way, wide enough to allow slower drivers to give the faster drivers the old Texas thank you by driving on the shoulder to let them by !

(That used to be the norm around here before too many foreigners moved in )

Don't how far west and south you are going but I-35 between the junction of 35E and 35W south to Temple is under a lot of construction.
