US 25 in New Mexico to Angelfire on rte. 64

I am going to be coming south on US 25 from Colorado this summer and I want to go to the Angelfire RV park at the resort. Has anyone taken rte. 64 from US 25 to the Angelfire resort? The map looks like it has a lot of switchbacks. We are driving a 40’ MH with a Toad.
Thank you

It's a popular RV destination so it's doable. We've done it with our 40' MH. There are curves but I wouldn't call them switchbacks.... just plan to slow up.

Your rig description is not in you signature, but I drove the part of 64 from Cimarron to Angel Fire in my 45', towing F150. It is very curvy between Cimarron and Eagle Nest but doable. It's slow but there are ample pullover sites along the way. You are actually passing through Cimarron State Park. Once you get to Eagle Nest is easy again.

I do not recommend 58. It is very narrow, has no shoulder, and the edge drops off. It was very unpleasant.

I've done it both with a 45' coach and last August with our fifth wheel. No problem. I wouldn't try 58. Turn left in Cimarron and drive a couple blocks to the old hotel. It is well worth the visit and not a bad place for lunch. Some old west history. There is also a rest area before you get there that still has corrals and water for stock animals enroute. Enjoy the ride.

Thanks for your comments, we have a 40' DP. Looks like we will give it a try.
