What kind of information are you needing? As far as the highway goes, it's a beautiful drive with some ups and downs. Many RVers drive it.

I used to live in Hayden, ID. Here is the route I would recommend:

Hwy 395 to Reno, NV
I-80 to Winnemucca, NV
Hwy 95 to I-84
I-84 to I-82
I-82 to Pasco, WA
Hwy 395 to Spokane

A little over 1,100 miles.

395 becomes a trail north of Calif. Miles of nothing....I agree with BobGed ....OR go over to I-5 and north to Portland then I-84 / I-82 back to 395 and up thru Tri cities (Pasco) to I-90 to Spokane. More miles than BobGed's way but lots more fuel stations and rv parks. In my car I go BobGed's way...motorhome I go I-5. Every year, Sacramento to Billings Mt to see grandkids.

Are you gas or diesel? How many miles are you comfortable driving per day?

There are plenty of fuel stops along the way, you just need to do a little advance planning.

If you have a Smart Phone? I would suggest getting the Gas Buddy app.

I've done 395 from where it begins in So Cal to at least as far north as Spokane. It's a major highway that gets a lot of traffic at times, especially from Mammoth south. As previously stated, plan 2 steps ahead. I usually gas up our Class A gasser first thing in the morning, then hook up the dinghy. (I use the dinghy to find suitable stations the night before.). If you've never done it before, it's definitely worth seeing. Much, much prettier than the other side of the Sierra. Keep an eye on the weather.
