Trying to plan a route between Belfast, Maine and Burlington CT and know nothing of the area. Has anyone traveled US-4 between Portland, ME & Concord, NH? Or US-302/US-2 which sort of cuts across the middle of Maine, NH and VT? Are these roads appropriate for a 41' motorhome towing a car? Are there many hills/mountains? narrow winding areas?

Thanks for any help.

I traveled Rt. 4 many of times in N.H. you will have no problems at all with your MH .

I was wondering why you want to go that way and not just go 95 south to 495 S to 290 west to mass pike west to Rt. 84

Minisprint: I was reading your suggested route and thinking why the heck would I want to go that far south to get to Vermont? Then I re-read my original post and realized I wrote CT instead of VT. My bad. Thanks for the info on US-4. Have you ever stayed at Saddleback Campground in Northwood, NH? We'd like to find a place to spend the night so we can break up the drive and that looks to be about 1/2 way.

I never stayed there in fact I never even heard of it . But someday I will have to go there and check it out thanks for the info.

I don't know how you are going to VT.

I do know of a couple of nice CG on the way.

This one is on the other side on Concord N.H. in Weare N.H. http://www.coldspringscampresort.com

The other one is on the VT. and N.H. border
Hinsdale Campground
29 Pine Street
Hinsdale, NH 03451 Send us e-mail .

I hope this helps if you need any more info just ask.

Thanks, both those places look like fun, though a bit pricey for just an overnight stay.
