US 97 in Northern California CLOSED

FYI, US 97 in Northern California is CLOSED between Weed, CA and Klamath Falls, OR because of the Little Deer fire.

Also 299 is closed at Burney. We are enroute to Bend Oregon, to spend a week there prior to the Redmond FMCA Rally. Currently at Frendly RV in Weed, CA. If the roads do not open tomorrow, then it north to Medford to cross over to Crater Lake.

We're going to be heading to Bend & Redmond this Saturday. May have to alter the route if thing don't clear up soon. Don't know the best alternative for DP with toad.

Looks like a ride around Crater Lake may be the best route for those of us coming up from the south. We also are leaving Saturday for Redmond.

Update///. Left Weed this morning and drove to Medford to take 62 toward Crater Lake for our final destination of Sun River Thousand Trails outside Bend. Extra mileage was only 45 miles. Road construction on I 5 just after Yreka one lane and slow trucks. Highway 62 is scenic along the river. Could be busy on W/E for people going rafting. We drove this with our 38 DP W/liberty toad, with no problem. Hopely 97 will be open by Sat.

Good luck LEMO
