US380 Greenville TX to Roswell NM

Is the road mentioned in the title a viable route in December/January, 41' coach towing a car? Looking to get off the interstate, see some countryside and enjoy the journey. Mostly 4 lane divided? Roswell in winter? Of course would be paying attention to weather forecasts.

Then 70 over to 54 to get to Alamogordo.

As long as you pay attention to the long range forecast you should be o.k. but snow is possible. Be sure to tour White Sands Nat'l Monument on 70. Also, Smokey the Bear Museum near Ruidoso.

Roswell isn't much.

i used to drive it from greenville tex to the other side of denton on way to amarillo
other than a bazillion redlights and never really being able to do the speed limits its an ok road. I imagine once west fo DFW area it would get better.
