Does anyone have any experience going through DC on 395 to 695 then 295 Anacosta Freeway to 50? I have a meeting in Alexandria/Falls Church then going to KOA DC for a few days for other meetings in the area. Google sends me this way. Or should I backtrack 395 to 495? Will potentially be travelling around 4pm. Will be driving 35 ft bounder no toad.

At 4pm on a work day it probably doesn't matter which way you go, they'll all be a mess. And, Alexandria and Falls Church are not adjacent. If departing FC, I'd opt to get to 495 clockwise to 50. If departing ALEX, I'd go counterclockwise on 495 to 50. I almost never crossed thru DC to get anywhere but that's because philly don't do DC.

I meant Arlington. My meeting is on Leesburg Pike in Baileys Crossing area. I agree that 495 would seem the easiest although slow way. Not in any rush at that point.
Thank you

We drive that area often. That route in your car is fine but I wouldn't use it in an RV. Just stick with 495. Stay out of the far right lane as its difficult managing the on/off traffic. Get in the next lane in, pick a speed your comfortable with and let traffic go around you. I have driven 495 in rush hour in driving rain and lived to tell about it because I just relax. Remember that at any hour of the day 12 miles could take you 45 minutes
