Last November I found that I-78 thru NJ and PA had about the worst road surface I've had to travel over. Is I-80 between I-287 and I-81 any better? Thanks.

You are so right about I-78,just horrible. The ruts in the right hand lane are the worst. There is a reason for that, truck traffic, lots and lots of truck traffic.I-80 has at least a couple of steep grade advisories between NJ and I-81.At the PA-NJ state line you have a long, hard pull westbound and then shorter but very steep drop down to I-81. I may not have it exactly right since it's been along time since I ran I-80. I'll run I-78 during the "off" hours and stay in the left hand lane as much as possible.

We have been taking I-80 over for a few years now. If you go early enough through, you can miss construction. Some of the road is a bit rough, but they were working on it last summer when we were going through. Going I-84-I81S seems to take forever-but it's almost the same time wise to get to Harrisburg.
