We come up from Fl to NH a lot and usually take 95 to 26 to 77 to 81 to 84 to the Mass Pike to 3 to 93. If you want to go further up 95 take 17 over to 81. Both ways avoid DC, Balt and NYC.
Fransted is a good CG or if you prefer more things to do around you, look at the Saco River CG in North Conway. If you like NP's look at Dolly Copp CG.

We spend the winter in Naples and drive through Jax both ways. The only toll you'll see is the Mass Pike.

The Mass Pike is I-90 but you don't need to use it....If you are going to Keene, NH first, I would take Roadpilot's route except that when you get to Hartford, CT on I-84 take I-91 north thru Ma and into Vermont...Take exit 3 off I-91 in VT onto route 9 east...Keene is about 20 miles from this exit and 9 is a good road ...Avoid in and around Hartford, CT during rush hours...

One toll on I-84 in Newburgh, Ny (bridge) east bound...None west bound...To get to the White Mountains from Keene, continue east on rt.9 into Concord, NH..Then pickup I-93 north to the mountains...Most campgrounds up here are pricey..It's a short season....They have to make it while they can...
