Williams, AZ to Bryce Canyon, Ut.

In Early to mid Aug. we will be travaling from Williams, AZ up to Bryce Canyon Ut. We'll be in a 40' DP pulling a toad, is there good roads or roads to avoid. Never been in this part of the country before. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks Dave, that looked like the best route on the map but hoping someone had more up to date and had driven them.

An alternate route is to take 89 from Flagstaff to 89A, cross the Colorado River at the Navajo Bridge and check out Marble Canyon. It connects back to 89 at Kanab. Or you can take the 89 bypass to Page and pick up 89 again. I drove through there last Oct. I have not been through the temporary bypass. I was pulling a 43' 5th wheel at the time.

89 or 89A would be no problem for your 40' motorhome. The bypass is an excellent road and it really doesn't add miles. We've driven both with our 40'.

89A does have a steep uphill just before Jacob Lake.

For Bryce, the best place is Ruby's, just outside the entrance. You can get the free park shuttle right there.

If you have the time it would be a shame to miss Zion NP that is just before Bryce.

we're going that same route leaving from Tucson. Taking 89 all the way to Glacier with stops at Zion, Bryce, Grand Teton, Yellowstone and Glacier. Going to wear out the senior pass at the national parks

We have traveled 89 out of Flagstaff. Mostly all 4 lane and good road. Turned off at 160 to Monument valley.
Been several years since we traveled to Bryce using 89. did that in a Fifth Wheel. Watch the tunnel on 17 just out of Zion,(nice) they wouldn't let me thru because of length.

Be safe and see the sites.

Tim - on the way back to AR you could hit Arches and Canyonlands National park...
