Williams AZ to Cottonwood AZ Routing?
Best way??
1. Via I-40E to I-17S to 260?
2. Via I-40W to 89, 89A, 269, 260?
3. Via I-40E, 89A, 260?
I'll be traveling from Railside RV Campground in Williams, AZ to Verde Valley RV Resort. Secondary roads are OK with me. I'd be inclined to take option 2 and enjoy the scenery.
Thanks

89A through Oak Creek has some tight switchbacks and is a bit narrow into Sedona. There's even a 50-ft restriction on them. I'd say I-40 -> I-17 -> 260. Then drive your toad back to Sedona and up 89A for some good sightseeing.

Ditto. Don't take 89A. It is a beautiful toad drive though.

We always take your first choice - I-17 south to 260.

I was at Jerome,Az. and saw a DP turn around because of restrictions going through Jerome. I-17 to 260 is what I would take.

We currently are in Sedona at the Rancho Sedona. Yesterday we drove 89a to Cottonwood and Jerome. The road from cottonwood to Jerome is restricted to 50 feet and they are not kidding. My super duty f250 crew cab was a full fit in the road, very tight and extremely tight corners. If in Jerome had eat at the Haunted Place - great food...I pull a 27 ft. 5er and the road from Sedona to Cottonwood is a nice road, lots of stop lights, groc store, restaurants ect. The only tight spot is the circles, no more 4 way stops in all 3 towns and it take both lanes to make the roundy rounds. Cold this morning and yesterday low to mid 30s but the days are beautiful cool and clear. Not much foot traffic in towns.

Just looked at a local map and if you take I17 to 179 to 89A you will go thru 11 circles (don't know how long your rig is) and 8 traffic lights from I17 to the turnoff off 89A to Cottonwood.

Going up or down the hill from Cottonwood to Jerome would be crazy in a RV. Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood has been a great place to stay for us

We have been to the Haunted Hamburger and it is pretty good. Two weeks ago we were in Jerome and tried a restaurant named Grapes. Even better actually.

It looks like it will be options A. Thanks for all the information and suggestions. I made a note of the restaurants too.
