10 ply tires?..or 6?

We have a '03,Chevy 2500, 6.0, gas, 4x4, 4 door.
We pull a Montana 5th wheel, about 7k lbs...no more than once/mo.
Is it worth investing in 6 or 10 ply tires?
Will they ride better? or last longer?
Mine are bout done, that came on the truck when purchased and not far from replacement.

Thanx
Trapper John

Check the load rating of the 6 Vs the 10 and your pin weight to see if the numbers work.

I get much better miles of service from the OEM load E (10 ply rated) at 80 psi vs a soft sided C load range (6 ply rated) at just 50 psi on my various 3/4 and one ton trucks I've owned.
A over sized load C tire may have the 3000-3200 lb required capacity for the truck rear axle but 50 psi is a very soft sidewall.
Six ply rated LT tires are better suited on 1/2 ton trucks than your 2500 GM truck.
