12V lighitng problem

I'm new to the forum so bare with me. I recently bought a 1999 Coachmen Catalina 24QB TT and now have some 12V lighting issues. When we first got it, everything worked fine. The overhead light in the kitchen blew a bulb, so I replaced it. It dimmed one time, and then stopped working completely. I also now have the light out over the dinette, and the outside amber light. The amber and the kitchen light are on separate switches inside the entry way, but get main power from the same line. I checked the fuses and all appear fine. I checked for power in the lines going to the switches, and don't have any. I do have power to other 12V lights, and all of the 120V outlets. None of the circuit breakers are tripped, and the GFI tests out normal. The same condition exists whether I'm on shore power or battery power. Any suggestions?? Anybody know how I could get ahold of a wiring diagram??

I would take the lights loose and check the wiring at the lights. You probably got a loose connection. If you can get one of the bad lights burning pull the 12v fuse to find out what which one feeds the lights. It may be the wire loose on the fuse panel. I am not sure where you could get a wiring diagram, but the 120v and the 12 v are seperate except for the inverter and that most keeps the battery charged. Welcome to IRV2 .

First thing I would check is the sockets. One... You could have a socket that has overheated and is allowing the hot tip to ground to the spring. two...You may have put a single tip bulb in a two tip socket. Check inside all the sockets and make sure they only have one tip.

Thanks for the replies. I'll double check the sockets.

The sockets were good. I found the problem after pulling the three lights in question. Apparently they are isolated to the same ground wire, and the ground was shorting out. The outside entry light was the culprit. Thanks for the replies.
