Hi Carol
Welcome to IRV2 - great place to find answers to your questions. Check with Jayco for any specific information on the rig but keep in mind that in most cases the applicances, etc. information will need to come from the manufacturer.
As for the 10 year rule, I would not worry too much about it .... they are the exception and not the rule .... If you have pets also keep in mind that many more parks are limiting the number, size and/or breed allowed .....
Again, welcome to IRV2

Maintenance is the key. We've owned three Jaycos - our most recent was a 2000 Designer XL 3610RLTS. All have been good, solid rigs, and the only problems we've had have been buyout items - examples include Todd Engineering power converters, a Norcold cooling unit, etc. In every case, Jayco was quick to take care of the problem and provide customer support over and above our expectations.

Good luck with whatever you purchase and happy RVing!

Rusty

I have a 1999 Jayco Designer XLT 3710. It still looks as good as the day I bought it. Jayco makes a solid product that is built to last.

Do NOT worry about the so called "10 year rule". The only time I have ever seen it was at an RV Park in Florida that rented sites by the year. Keep your rig clean and and in good repair and no one will ever question it's age.
