2006 Jazz 2870UK 5th wheel

Greetings all
I am in real need of information regarding the model of the awning that came on a 2006 Jazz 5th wheel. The brand of the awning is a AE Dometic. I'm not sure if the manufacture,Thor of California, installed the same type or style on all the 2870UK model Jazz for that year, but I thought this is worth a try.

If there are Jazz owners out there who have this particular model and year, and have the original awning, I would very much appreciate it if someone could provide that model number or name. I still had the instruction brochure that came with the trailer; however, it covers information on three different models: Sunchaser, 8500 &/or 9000.
A new awning is currently being installed by a repair shop. Unfortunately, our damaged awning is no longer available for verification of the model.

In advance, thanks a bunch.....JW

Any awning is fine. The A&E made the awning, they are owned by Dometic.
A Sunchaser is the cheap version, 8500 is better, 9000 even better.

If it's being installed right now, isn't it kind of late to verify this?

Thanks for your response, jesilvas, but unfortunately it was not installed correctly. So I am not only having to battle them about the sloppy install, I am now suspecting the same quality of awning prior to the incident is not what was installed. You stated it perfectly: "A Sunchaser is the cheap version, 8500 is better, 9000 even better." An actually, whether it was installed so poorly or not, according to our insurance policy, I am entitled to expect the coach to be repair to the same condition before the accident/incident. In other words, the awning should be of the same quality or at least comparable, and it should be appropriately installed.

Unfortunately, Thor of CA is out of business, and MVP RC LLC is no longer either. At this point, the repair facility can tell me anything they want. I was only hoping if someone had the same unit and were willing to compare features, style points, etc. that maybe I'd have a leg to stand on and get the awning we deserve, rather than the flimsy one that was installed.

Just as a last note, I have contacted AE Dometic and the gal I was corresponding with could not identify it by my description - possibly due to design changes over the years. Believe me, I feel more confident asking for the information on these forums.

I do appreciate your time and input. Thanks much and have a wonderful day. JW

Timay....you got that right - I'm in contact with them; meaning the insurance company. And of course the repair shop is aware of my dissatisfaction on the installation procedure and repairs. I am preparing myself to the best of my ability, as there was additional damage to our coach. Most people here would be in such awe or shock as to what I have been expected to accept.

Thanks much for your response. I'm hangin in there JW
