2011 KZ Stoneridge-What is this?

We have a 2011 38ft Stoneridge with 3 slides. Under the passenger side slide something that has a cotter-pin through it...picture attached. When the slide is extended, I can pull the rod completely out. Looks like it had another cotter-pin in the other end. I haven't take the undercover off. Thought I would ask here first...what is this thing???

Don't know what it is/does, but if it looks as tho there should be a pin on the other end, I'd put one there and not pull the rod out til you know what it is there for. Were there any marks on it--wear marks like it might be a limiter on slide movement?
FYI, the pin shown is a 'roll' pin, not a cotter pin--serve similar purposes, guess the only real difference is cotter pin can come out from one end only; roll pin not designed to be split to keep it in place

Thanks wingnut60 for the id. I probably knew the name at one time, but just can't store everything upstairs anymore. Something's always slips.
The other end is hidden right now. I'll have to take the 3-season cover from underneath the carriage off to see it. I have an inkling the other end either fits into something or over something, then the roll pin get put in to hold it there. I'll see if I get anymore responses before tearing into it.

If your slide drives are Lippert, that would be the attachment for the manual slide drive, the missing pin on the other end would attach it to the drive gear reduction box.
As per photo.

Hope someone comes forth with a definitive answer. Doesn't seem right to be able to pull it right out...but can't understand what it is there for if everything is working correctly.

Skip426, you nailed it!! With what you stated, I thought, if true, there should be another one on the driver side slide. Sure enough, there is! It sits there, extended about 1-1/2 in, and is attached to "something". My guess, it's attached to the other slide motor, as your picture depicts. Thanks for the feedback. Guess it's fix-it time now!!

That is the manual crank for the opposite slide out.
