2014 - NuWa

Anyone hear news about NuWa? Looks like they are making new models. Cool.

I see a new 2014 on the Kansas RV Center in Chanute.

The new one was not made in Chanute. Even though there has been no official news it is quite obvious the NuWa was made in Smith Center by Peterson Industries who also happen to make Excel. There was a previous thread on this but not sure which site. No one was sure if this was just a one time thing to see what happens or if there will be more.

NuWa and Peterson Industries have been friendly toward one another for some time. The CEO of NuWa, Mike Mitchell, has been an honorable and trustworthy fifth-wheel manufacturer for decades. The fact that Mike seems to have worked out a manufacturing deal with Excel is a great thing. You will get the best of both worlds: Excel manufacturing capability with the NuWa HitchHiker brand loyalty of many, many fulltimers. I sure hope this joint venture gains some traction, and they begin sellling multiple floorplans and levels of sophistication.

If they are able to compete with the other high-end fivers, such as the Excel Limited series and the Mobile Suites line, I will definitely consider a HitchHiker branded fifth wheel. Here's to a successful partnership!
