5th Bunkhouse under 35'

Hello

We've been reading in the backroom and learning allot. Finally decided to join, so Hello!

We are trying to find a 5th wheel bunkhouse (2 adults + 2 children) under 35' with a 12" I beam frame. We looked at Montana/Fox Mountain/Glacier Peak but decided that the lighter frame isn't going to last on backboards we travel. Our last (tent) camping trip was 2 hours (one way) on BC logging roads.

In talking to people that dry camp with conventional trailers we figure the black tank needs to be min 50 gallons and the carrying capacity 2000lb+ after filling propane and water tanks.

Our tow vehicle is a 2015 F350 SRW shorbox. Not sure of the max pin weight but working back from the CVW of 23,500lbs the absolute maximum loaded (no safety margin) trailer weight is 14,000lbs

We would love an Arctic Fox (bulletproof) 5th Wheel but there are no bunk models.

Are all the bulletproof production builders gone?

We've also looked at used Newmar, Horizon, Nuwa, Spacecraft, Mobile Suites, Excel but the ones we looked at are too heavy (wish we had a DRW truck) or too long.

Has anyone added bunks to a 5th wheel by removing the recliners (maybe do this with a Arctic Fox 29-5T) at the back or take out the sofa that is in the slide?

Thank You

To be honest I don't know if there is a 5rh wheel to meet your specs. Over 35ft yes I believe there is but under is tough. You can find them under but I don't think the frame will be up to what you're doing.

Someone suggested collapsible bunk beds which led us to these AMAZING ideas! Some are more child friendly than others.

Check out Cherokee 26SB. Nice quality and open floor plan.
