If your generator does not fit in your 5th wheel compartment and you have to put it in your truck how do you secure it keep someone from ripping it off? Thanks

I have a vinyl clad steel cable and a padlock that I run through mine to keep honest people honest. If someone really wants to steal it they'll get it no matter what I do.

So far I still have it and have hauled it all over the US, into Canada, and to Alaska.

Me too! This is more secure than locking in it a compartment anyway.

I fabricated a frame out of 1 inch angle and bolted that to the bed of the truck. Also fabricated a strap that goes over the top of the generator and is held in place by two lock. If they want it bad enough now, they can have it!

I modified a transporter, raised it 12", which fits into the rear hitch on the back of my 5th wheel. Mounded the generator in the center of the transporter, made a frame of PVC pipe and a had a cover made which covers the entire transporter for weather protection. The generator weights 106 lbs and is a 3500W unit. Will run one 15K AC unit without any problem.
